Mahindra XUV500 W10 Gets a Facelift For 2019

Mahindra sells tractors and a ute in Australia but the XUV500 is its first monocoque car designed to attract buyers who aren’t farmers or tradies. It’s the brand’s biggest selling vehicle and it got a facelift for 2019 that takes it into a new league of SUVs.

The XUV500’s front end gets a refreshed grille with chrome trim and an enlarged logo that gives it a more premium look. The side profile is unchanged save for the new alloy wheels. The rear, however, has been reworked slightly with the ORVMs getting chrome surrounds and the number plate holder now sporting LED lights that flash ’XUV500’ on road surfaces.

Inside, the new XUV500 W10 is more luxurious than before. The twin-cluster driver’s display now has icy blue backlighting and the instrument console is finished in piano black. The cabin feels well-built and the leather seats are huge, offering plenty of support and comfort. The second row is also large and easily accommodates three people.

The XUV500’s 2.2-litre diesel engine is potent and can effortlessly scoot the car along at highway speeds. The gearbox is slick and helps with effortless city cruising as well.
